The 7 Huna Principles of Life – 1. Ike

This is a series of 7 articles based around the 7 principles of life in the Hawaiian Huna tradition.

Have you ever heard of Huna? It’s a Hawaiian term for “secret”. Now don’t jump off here just because you don’t want to hear another “The Secret” type story again. Huna is a philosophy (and not a set of of superficial esoteric mumbo jumbo methods) while at the same time being very practical – maybe that’s what caught my attention in the first place and I found it well worth studying. It’s not a religion that you have to join and if you are religious you should stay with your current religion if you’re happy. However following the 7 principles that are at the core of this philosophy allows you to experience your life to a much deeper and fulfilling level.

Consciousness and healing

Almost a year ago I had what I thought was to be a relatively minor arthroscopic knee surgery.  I dutifully went to my primary care doctor and asked for a referral to an orthopedist.  I followed everyone’s instructions: stopped my supplements a week or two before surgery, continued to ice my knee after surgery and went to physical therapy religiously.  But three months after surgery I still wasn’t feeling well – my blood pressure was abnormally high, I had some memory loss and difficulty sleeping and my knee started hurting more.

About Osteopathic Medicine

Developed 130 years ago by physician A.T. Still, osteopathic medicine is one of the fastest growing healthcare professions in the U.S. and brings a unique philosophy to traditional medicine. With a strong emphasis on the inter-relationship of the body’s nerves, muscles, bones and organs, doctors of osteopathic medicine, or DOs, apply the philosophy of treating the whole person to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, disease and injury.

What is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)?

stud7 What Is Osteopathic Medicine? If you’re like most people, you’ve been going to physicians ever since you were born and perhaps were not aware whether that some or all of them were osteopathic physicians, also known as DOs. You may not even be aware that there are two types of complete physicians in the United States—DOs and MDs.

The results are in from the most recent large-scale Intention Heals experiments made possible by Adam McLeod (B.Sc. First Class Honors in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry), author of DreamHealer.

The main purpose of these projects was to measure the effect of the group’s intention on one individual’s brain waves. Scientific research continues to show that your intentions can influence your health and the health of those around you.

brightlight Intention Heals Project Good Results

The first Global Intention Heals Project on November 8th, 2009 focused on the EEG data obtained when a large number of people focused their intentions on one individual. This was a global project where more than 10,000 people focused their intentions using a specific DreamHealer visualization on one individual (Christine). Christine had no awareness as to when the participants would send their intentions. The results from this project were outstanding. A Quantitative EEG analysis easily identified a significant change in her brain wave patterns at the exact time the intentions were sent. Christine has noticed many improvements in her health since participating in this experiment.

Angiogenesis And Cancer

Read the entire article by Scott Kustes and discover what foods we can eat to starve cancer.

A friend recently sent me several articles and a Ted Talk video about how inhibiting angiogenesis might make it possible to stop the growth of cancer. So I figured it was worth taking a look at to figure out what it’s all about and if there’s any credence to the idea.

angiogenesis Angiogenesis The Key To Stopping Cancer?

What Is Angiogenesis?

For starters, let’s talk about just what angiogenesis is. We’ll just take the concise Wikipedia definition:

“Angiogenesis is a physiological process involving the growth of new blood vessels from pre-existing vessels.”

Angiogenesis is a normal and vital process in growth and development, as well as in wound healing. However, it is also a fundamental step in the transition of tumors from a dormant state to a malignant one.
