How to Get Things Done – 7 Smart Ways to Accomplish A Goal
Ciara Conlon posted on Lifehack.org a great post on how to gain focus and push ourselves to accomplish our daily tasks and goals. She outlines “7 Wise Ways” to do just that:
“It has to be one of mankind’s greatest challenges; staying focused in the fast paced, technology driven world we are living in. Information overload, a common phenomenon, work overload another. But staying focused is perhaps the best way for us to get things done and move forward with our lives and our jobs. So how do we keep our eye on the ball when it’s accustomed to bouncing around from court to court?”
Money can buy you happiness, but maybe not in the way you think.
It seems that spending money on others (pro-social spending) makes most people happier than spending money on themselves (personal spending).
A lot of research has shown that there is only a weak link between personal happiness and how much money people have.
On a global scale, happiness is strongly associated with income up to a level where people have a roof over their head and the basic needs safely covered.
Having more money than this does not necessarily make you happier.
One factor that affects how happy you are on a particular income is comparison.
If you have adequate income to cover simple needs and live amongst others with similar income levels, you will most likely be reasonably happy (assuming no other major problems). But if you have your nose rubbed into the wealth of your neighbours and through TV ads, you may be less happy. Read more...(409 words, 1 image, estimated 1:38 mins reading time)

I think of myself, basically, as a teacher and a counselor. So, lessons such as these are not meant to be literary masterpieces. I am not concerned with being lofty and profound, but in dealing with those day-to-day problems, for which people are seeking help and healing.
In these essays, I am not presenting a new religion, startling and shocking as some of the concepts may be. I am dealing with a technique for the application of fundamental Spiritual Laws, discovered and demonstrated by Jesus and many other great mystic teachers—the thread of Truth, the fundamental concepts that enable any individual, practically and creatively, to release his or her own “Imprisoned Splendor.” I have been dealing with these insights for many years. I have given thousands upon thousands of talks. Yet, all of these millions upon millions of words can be synthesized into just a few sentences. It is humbling to admit that a lifetime of teaching can be summed up “in a nutshell”…but I think it can. So, I would like to give that kind of a summation, just three simple things—three simple fundamentals of this New Insight In Truth. Read more...(1755 words, estimated 7:01 mins reading time)
The idea of six degrees of separation is that anyone on the planet can be connected to any other person on the planet by a chain of no more than five acquaintances. I first heard of this by way of the Kevin Bacon example that proclaims all actors are connected to Kevin Bacon by an average of less than 3 connections. It turns out Bacon isn’t even the most connected actor. Swami Vivekananda, the 19th century mystic credited with bringing Hindu philosophy to the west offers the perfect summary of the theme,
“All differences in this world are of degree, and not of kind, because oneness is the secret of everything.”

The Thoughts I Think Determine the Relationship I Attract… You are the thinking, Vibrating attractor of your experience; and the thoughts you think determine everything about the life that you live. As you turn your attention toward the positive aspects of the personalities and behaviors of others with whom you share your planet, you will train your point of attraction in the direction of only what you desire. Not only does the power of your thought determine which people make their way into your life, but the power of your thought determines how they behave once they get there.
— Abraham

Law of Attraction
I have been following Abraham-Hicks for years. They are the real thing when it comes to “higher knowledge” and LOA or law of attraction.
Louise Hay calls them “some of the best teachers on the planet today.”
To Dr. Wayne Dyer they are “the great Masters of the Universe!”
A veritable who’s-who of authors, speakers and teachers continue to publicly acknowledge and praise the immense value of the wisdom that is pouring forth through Esther.
Abraham has described themselves as “a group consciousness from the non-physical dimension” (which helps a lot!). They have also said, “We are that which you are. You are the leading edge of that which we are. We are that which is at the heart of all religions.” Read more...(286 words, 1 image, estimated 1:09 mins reading time)
So what is the secret to happiness? I believe it’s very much a personal journey. What resonates in your heart is not necessarily what floats my boat. But remember, no one is in control of your happiness but you. I like this little quote because it speaks the truth in a way you are not used to hearing it: “Ever since happiness heard your name, it has been running through the streets trying to find you.” – Hafiz of Persia
