Thank you: Dumb Little Man
Socrates is considered one of the chief founders of Western philosophy. We know Socrates primarily from the accounts of other writers: from his student, Plato, from Xenophon, the historian, as well as from the plays of Aristophanes.
Through Plato’s writing (primarily) we’ve come to comprehend the depth of Socrates’ wisdom. Today I want to discuss seven life lessons based on the teachings of Socrates. Socrates said, “I cannot teach anybody anything; I can only make them think.” This article was written to make you think. He said, “Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.” Let his words, kindle your flame.

Tapping the Promise of Personal Growth
March 1st, 2010 by Steve Pavlina
The nice thing about working on your personal growth is that when you make a concerted, dedicated effort to improve some part of your life, there’s an excellent chance that you will succeed in the long run. You may have a lot of gunk to clear out in terms of limiting beliefs, and you may be starting from a disadvantaged position, but given enough time, it’s entirely possible to completely rework some part of your life for the better.
For example, you have the potential to go from rags to riches, from shy to socially confident, or from unhealthy to vibrant and fit. It may not be easy to make such transitions, but there are numerous successes to model. The 7 Huna Principles of Life – 1. Ike
This is a series of 7 articles based around the 7 principles of life in the Hawaiian Huna tradition.

It’s not a religion that you have to join and if you are religious you should stay with your current religion if you’re happy. However following the 7 principles that are at the core of this philosophy allows you to experience your life to a much deeper and fulfilling level. Read more... Procrastination
Most of us procrastinate to varying degrees. In fact, according to Piers Steel, a University of Calgary psychologist who got his information from an analysis of psychological literature, 95% of people admit that they sometimes procrastinate.
We recognize the inconveniences caused by procrastination — the late assignments, the missed flight, the angry boss — but most people are unaware of the real costs in terms of lost opportunities, excessive fines, and even tragedies of epic proportions.
Here are some examples of just a few of the real costs determined by Piers Steel, whose scientific literature review appeared in the journal, Psychological Bulletin.
A study by the tax preparation firm H&R Block reported that putting off doing their taxes costs U.S. citizens an average of $400 each because of errors due to the last-minute rush. Read more... (232 words, estimated 56 secs reading time)
