A duo of doubles pairings will go for glory at the YONEX French Open 2022, with Ben Lane and Sean Vendy hoping to return to their seed-toppling ways.
Both Lane and Vendy and Callum Hemming and Jessica Pugh fell at the first hurdle last time out at the Denmark Open.
The men’s doubles duo start their campaign against Jeppe Bay and Lasse Molhede of Denmark and victory in round one could see them meet Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto in the second round.
If they were to defeat the Indonesian fifth seeds, another top pair would stand in the way of a place in the semi-finals with fourth seeds Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia also in their section of the draw.
Many impressive wins from this weekend, but not enough for new medals at the #CzechOpen2022 😕

In September, Lane and Vendy reached the quarter-final of the Japan Open by beating top seeds Lee Yang and Wang Chi-Lin having knocked out Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo en route to the last eight at the World Championships a week earlier.
Hemming and Pugh had entered the Denmark Open with confidence after their sparkling silver at the Dutch Open but were knocked out by a strong performance from Thai pairing Supak Jomkoh and Supissara Paewsampran.
In Paris, the mixed doubles duo has been drawn in the same half of the draw as the defending champions Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino.

Hemming and Pugh would only meet the Japanese second seeds at the semi-final stage and face a tricky path to get there.
In the first round, they will come up against Dutch pair Robin Tabeling and Selena Piek and victory could set them up for a clash against fourth seeds Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet of Hong Kong in the second round.
Lauren Smith and Chloe Birch will sit out the tournament at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin as Smith continues to recuperate from the ankle injury picked up at the Dutch Open.
