Lauren Smith and Marcus Ellis will look to improve on their quarter-final finish at last week’s PERODUA Malaysia Masters as they head to the Toyota Gazoo Racing Thailand Open.
They will get their campaign underway against Denmark’s Mathias Thyrri and Amalie Magelund, who they beat at the same stage in Malaysia, and the English pair will be hoping for a repeat performance.
Ben Lane and Sean Vendy will have to wait for the end of qualifying to find out their opponents in the first round of the men’s doubles.
Having fallen to defeat against Chinese Taipei’s Lee Fang-chih and Lee Fang-jen in the first round of the Malaysia Masters, Lane and Vendy will now look to bounce back in Bangkok in the early stages of the Olympic qualification period.
In the women’s doubles, Chloe Birch and Smith will be in action after their first-round defeat against Japan’s Rena Miyaura and Ayako Sakuramoto in Malaysia.
However, like Lane and Vendy, the duo will have to wait until the end of qualifying to find out their first-round opponents in in Bangkok.
