Nadeem Dalvi continued his stellar international run with a semi final appearance at the Botswana 2023 International.
The 19-year-old pushed Georges Julien Paul from Mauritius all the way in a three-game battle in Gaborone, eventually losing 18-21, 21-14, 19-21.
The sole Badminton England representative, Dalvi came into the competition off the back of a stunning silver medal at the Spanish International just one week previous.
Fuelled by his recent success, Dalvi cruised through the opening few rounds, downing Mauritius’s Lucas Douce 21-13, 21-14 and the Maldives’ Ahmed Nibal 21-9, 21-13 to reach the quarter finals.
Dalvi then faced Otse Police College Ratchapol Srithong of Thailand, easily brushing aside his competitor by cruising through the opening game 21-5 to set up a semi final showdown with second seed Julien Paul.
Despite a rallying battle in the second game to force a third, Dalvi was ultimately unable to overcome his opponent and exited the competition at the semi final stage.
