As the Performance Team continues to review its England Junior Programme focus and aligned activity, we are pleased to advise of the current advertisement that has been posted on the BE website.
The Team is now pleased to be recruiting for a second National Pathway Coach in the England Junior Performance Programme (EJPP) Team to support alongside current Pathway Coach, Kathryn Hurrell.
The two roles within the Performance Team will be split with one role supporting the older age groups (U16-U19 players) and the new role taking a lead on managing the identification of talent within the Performance Pathway and driving development of U15 EJPP players.
In addition to this new employed role, the Team will be looking to engage the services of up to five new Age Group Coach consultancy roles which will be going live for recruitment very soon.
These new roles will be split between each age group and will contribute significantly to an increase in the knowledge and ability within the Team to support the ongoing development of Junior players within the Performance Pathway.
As part of this recruitment of employed and consultant roles, a primary focus across all roles will be an increased presence externally as we look to drive the ongoing improvement in key development areas nationally, whilst improving the knowledge and collaboration both within the Team and across the network.
This increased presence across the country will involve regular visits to training environments by the National Pathway Coaches to collaborate and share knowledge regarding EJPP players, alongside discussing how best to support ongoing player development within the Performance Pathway.
The Pathway Coach roles will be ably supported by the consultant Coaches, who will be focused on providing observations and support / advice to Pathway players from domestic Tournaments, networking and collaborating with coaches in support of these players and also leading on the delivery of EJPP Camp activity within their allocated age group.
These Coaches will also support the annual planning for the EJPP and be involved in Panel selections for Events and the EJPP to complement Pathway Coaches knowledge.
The key aim here is to provide an increased robustness to selections and an ability to support individual players on EJPP to a better level.
Another vital aim with the increased resource within the Programme, is the ability to collaborate and improve communicate between coaches, players and parents, which in turn will help develop better insight across the Performance Pathway as to how we can best support Junior players moving forward.
In addition, this increased resource will allow the Programme to provide more individualised support to players on the EJPP, along with providing the Programme with the ability to identify and therefore support the development of players earlier on in their journey.
Further details on changes to the Junior Programme will be communicated as and when these are finalised, however we are excited to have these new roles in place within the Team by early 2024 to support players to become the best they can be.
